Relationship Issues
When relationships become difficult, it can leave you feeling hurt, confused, or unsure of what to do next. You might be dealing with conflict, a breakup, trust issues, or simply feeling disconnected from your partner, son, daughter etc. Much of my client work sees me helping those who are having relationship issues, particularly within the family.
I have worked with clients who are parents struggling with their relationship with their children both over and under 18 and also adults who are struggling with their relationships with their parents. In addition I have had experience working with children directly in a school setting as a counsellor so have an understanding of child mental health and how they may be feeling from their perspective.
Much of my work involves exploring why my client feels the relationship is having these issues, processing thoughts and feels alongside holding space for clients true authentic self outside of being a daughter/son or a parent (Rediscover phase of the A E P R M R methodology process). I have seen a huge trend in my clinic in that my clients have struggled to find their true authentic self due to wanting to be the best parent or the best son/daughter that they have lost who they are along the way. Therapy has helped them stop, pause, rewind, process and think. Therapy has also helped them rediscover who they are without influence of anything or anyone else which has aided in creating a renewed lease of life and a new sense of freedom.
